Newsletter |
|
Download your copy by clicking on the blue icon to the left of the page.
The Making Music South West Newsletter is full of information and news about Making Music’s work in the region and about other music groups’ activities. It also contains a concert diary and is a great forum for letting other people know about your group’s events and projects.
It is distributed twice a year, in the Autumn and the Spring. All member groups are sent 2 copies of the newsletter, and you can download copies here too.
The newsletter editor, Rosemary Allen, would love to hear from you if you have any contribution that you think other music lovers would like to know about. Please also let us know about any of your upcoming performances so we can add them to the concert diary. You can reach her at:

E-bulletin |
|
We send out an e-bulletin to all of our member groups every 6 weeks or so. It contains a mixture of regional and national
MM information, events, funding and training opportunities offered by other organisations at a national regional and local
level. If you would like to receive this e-bulletin then please contact Rachel Levay

Information sheets |
|
We are creating a series of information sheets aimed specifically towards members in the South West. You can download the first two here:
1. Funding
2. Who else can help (other organisations that can support you)
Do remember that there are over 50 information sheets and ‘How To’ Guides available on a range of topics through the national Making Music website. You can download an index of all the sheets available here: Info sheet 00

Case studies |
|
Many of our members run very successful projects and schemes that the rest of us can learn from. The case studies give an outline of these activities, with information about how they operate in practice, what some of the problems might be, and what has made them so successful. You can download case studies here:
1. Bristol Choral Society – Young Apprenticeship Scheme
2. Bournemouth Chamber Music Society - Young Musicians Development Scheme
3. Gloucester Music Society – Audience Development: Involving the local community
4. Tyndale Choral Society - Absolute Beginners Course: Recruiting new members
5. Cheltenham Symphony Orchestra - Concerts for Charities and Growing Audiences
If you think that other music groups would be interested to hear about your group’s success stories in any aspect of running a society, then please do get in touch.
